Gina
Demergeau-Lasseur was born in Haiti and raised by loving
parents. At the age of twelve she accepted Christ as her
personal Savior at a small community Christian church .As a
young Christian, Gina served in her church with tremendous
zeal, becoming president of the youth ministry at age
thirteen. Besides singing in local Christian bands,
she also started playing the guitar as
a teenager. Composing music and singing worship songs to the
Lord were some of Gina’s favorite hobbies.
Music has always helped Gina even in her most difficult
trials. At the age of seventeen, to cope with her mother’s
untimely death, she often found herself playing the guitar
and singing on the rooftop of her home. The Lord has always
ministered to her through music.
After moving to Florida to be reunited with her father, Gina
maintained her involvement in a variety of youth activities
as well as music. She participated in several recording
projects and also joined the Haitian all female Christian
band "Miami Christian Stars".
Her musical style stems from a rich culture of singing and
dancing Haitian folks songs passed on by her grandmother,
coupled with the influence of "chansonettes francaises"
musicians of her youth, i.e., Chantal Pari, Ginette Renaud
and Celine Dion ( whom she absolutely admired). Later
important influence came from her Diaspora as she became
acquainted with singers like Michael W. Smith, Sandi Patti,
Tramaine Hawkins among others.
Gina is happily married to the love of her life, Nate
Lasseur. Their union is blessed with two beautiful
daughters, Nikki & Dominique. Today, Gina keeps a busy life
caring for her family while working as a nurse and
ministering at her local church in South Florida
Her debut album “Bondye Vivan” marks her response to the
Holy Spirit’s insistent calling to minister at a larger
scale. The songs featured on this CD are not only pleasing
to the ear but also transpire a captivating message of hope
and encouragement to a suffering and often desperate world.
Gina hope this message will inspire people to turn their eye
upon a living & faithful God.
